Come Armageddon, Anne Perry

The Book

After more than 500 years, Tathea is released back out into the world to lead it through Armageddon. She is supposed to raise the leader of the army of good and stand faithful through these last days. She was promised by the angel Ishrafeli he would join her in the last battle, the one for this Earth against the Great Enemy, Asmodeous.

But as the boy grows up, he briefly rebels. When he finally accepts his fate, he becomes the man prophesized. Still Armegeddon does not come, and neither does Ishrafeli.

When Tathea has a vision that Asmodeous will simply wait them out, the boy traverses through the gates of hell to unleash the forces of evil.

But it costs him the ability to return.

Now Tathea is alone, and she must love the Earth and the people of Earth as much as is humanly possible, for the forces of evil are corrupting her army, leading the world to defeat itself.

My Thoughts

This is the second and final installment of this trilogy. Although better if read as a set, each book stands alone.

It is both an emotional and intellectual tritise on the nature of evil and good. And if you're included the be spiritual, the nature of a loving God.

Worth the read, even for an agnostic. But it probably won't change your view on your beliefs.

How Much My Library Card Saved Me

This book came to me from the Zion Benton Public Library District. It took me a good four weeks to read the 502 page book. It has been lightly read and is therefore in pretty good condition. It was categorized as Science Fiction. The inside of the cover says it entered into circulation on Sept 03, 2003. Which appears to be a time before that library district used bar codes for checkout, as the checkout card pocket is still in pristine condition in the front of the book. The flap says it originally cost $24.95. That's the number we will use.

This Book                                                     $24.95

Items Reviewed this Year                           $171.97
